  Ex JW's in the sex business

  i have met a number of strip club dancers and other sex workers who have at one time or another been associated with jehovah's witnesses.

  this is probably not disproportionate to the number of other previously religious people of other religions in the sex business, but has seemed rather coincidental.

  i have wondered it this is because of the sexual repression of the jw organization on its members.. anyone care to venture a guess?

  Windowless Kingdom Halls

  some time back, i had a disagreement with my brother-in-law, who even though he has doubts about the witnesses, still wants to put on the cloak of being a believer for his mother's sake.

  while he acknowledges the doctrinal errors and abysmal treatment of the flock by their elders, he doesn't want to assign a malicious, controlling motivation to it.

  i told him that i believed the idea of not having windows in kingdom halls was part of the brain washing that occurs during meeting after meeting during the weeks, months and years.

  The Passion of Brian

  i haven't yet seen the movie the passion of christ but understand that it is a powerful movie for those who are believers.

  i haven't been a jw for many years but wondered what the organizations position is on the bros seeing this movie.

  does anyone have any insight on this?

  How I was raised as a JW versus how I have raised my children. . .

  the topic of losing our history, because of being raised as jw's got me to thinking about how i've raised my own children.

  i have a son 17 years old, a son 15 years old and a daughter 13 years old.

  needless to say they have only stepped into a kingdom hall once in their lives to attend my niece's wedding.

  i don't much care for the thought of going to war.

  i know that it is necessary sometimes and this thing with iraq may just be one of those times.

  but, it seems to me that a much simpler solution to the terrorist threat problem would be for the united states to issue the following warning to the muslim world.

  we need to take into consideration that in the last election in iraq, he got 100% of the vote.

  like many dictators throughout the world, he is immensly popular.

  he probably is stockpiling weapons of mass destruction to keep them out of the hands of real bad guys.

  whether we are aware of it or not, this forum and the contributions to it has helped and is helping hundreds of good people who have been injured by an evil watchtower society.

  this is a picture of a new kingdom hall from a post several months ago.

  i was looking at the entryway and noticed two chairs by the door and thought it was a strange place for two chairs.

  are these chairs put there for the use of the "ancient prophets of old" if they should visit the kh?

  i can remember some tongue in cheek discussions in car groups about certain houses and certain locations we would like to inhabit after armageddon.

  you remember, sister cantholdajob would point out a big ass home and basically claim it for after the great day of jehovah's vengence.
